St. Mary’s Basilica is located in the north-east corner of the Main Market Square at 5 Mariacki Square in Kraków.
It is one of the most commonly recognized monuments in Poland. The Basilica is also among the largest and most important churches in Kraków. It was built at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries. The Basilica is a fine example of Gothic architecture.
The Royal Castle is situated on the Wawel Hill in Kraków. It used to be the residence of the kings of Poland. Nowadays the Hill is under administration of the National Art Collection and the Management of the Metropolitan Basilica.
The Royal Castle houses as many as 71 exhibition halls with numerous, perfectly preserved historical items and famous works of art.
Rynek Underground permanent exhibition was opened on 24th September 2010. It is a branch of the Historical Museum of the City of Kraków and it is located below the Market Square. Poland’s first educational park, Stanislaw Lem Experiment Garden, was established in Krakow in 2007. The park is located in the southeast corner of the Polish Aviators’ Park.
Nearly 60 educational devices can be found throughout the park. In the park’s open-air exhibition, visitors can learn about various fields of science, including physics, optics, acoustics, and mechanics.
